There’s a lot to be said about KFC’s famous gravy—mostly good things, the highest compliment of them all is that it’s delicious enough that it’s “sinasabaw sa kanin.” But there’s an aspect about the fast food chain’s gravy that’s so bad that it’s become this inside joke between people who have ordered KFC for delivery: KFC’s gravy plastic packaging has been criticized because its plastic seal is extremely difficult to peel off.
You could get hangry trying to peel the KFC plastic seal off.
It’s not an isolated case as a quick Google search will show you different results on “How To Open KFC Gravy” that are posted across different social media platforms. These hacks are made for people, who out of hangriness, frustratingly jabbed the plastic seal with anything sharp, be it a plastic fork, plastic knife, or scissors.
The same plastic packaging goes for KFC’s mashed potato and drinks, specifically the iced tea. When you have the iced tea delivered, it’s delivered unsweetened and with packets of sugar syrup that you can stir into the drink. It takes effort to remove the plastic seal from the cup so you can add the sweetener, all without spilling the drink.
But then, without any notice, the plastic packaging changed.
The plastic seal on the gravy and mashed potatoes are easier to open, while the iced tea now comes in a plastic cup cover that you can easily remove and put back on.
